2026 SPRING PLAYOFFS

WEEK #1: INitiation phase cup

Week 1 set the tone for the 2026 Spring Playoffs. From an original field of 376 Regular Season Fellows, the top 80 performers across all four spring fellowships (~21%) were selected to move forward and continue their journey to become MAP 5-Stars β€” each now earning their status as 4-Star Recruits ⭐️.

From that elite group, 16 athletes were chosen to lead their teams of five through the Playoffs as Initiation Phase Captains. As you move through the page, you’ll find model responses from their two HireVue reps + leaderboard rankings from the Initiation Cup.

🎬 FILM REVIEW β€” MODEL HIREVUE RESPONSES

STARTT

🟩 🟩 🟩

Migyu Kim | MAP Skills Challenge '26 | Harvard University Women's Squash 🏸

Migyu's STARTT response is polished, composed, and extremely well-balanced, showing strong command of the framework without ever sounding robotic or too rehearsed. Her pacing is calm and controlled throughout, and the natural smile paired with confident eye contact makes her come across as genuinely excited to be there.

She does an excellent job blending technical discussion around her company and industry snapshot with the leadership and teamwork elements of running a deal team, while consistently tying her actions back to why she’d be a strong fit at Morgan Stanley. There’s very little constructive feedback here β€” outside of one brief glance to the side that slightly suggested reading, this is an exceptionally mature postseason response that already feels recruiter-ready for investment banking interviews!

ESPY

🟩 🟩 🟩

Lauren Smith | MAP Skills Challenge '26 | Cornell University Women's Track & Field πŸƒβ€β™€

Lauren’s ESPY response is conversational, thoughtful, and incredibly easy to listen to, creating an immediate sense of comfort and authenticity from the opening anecdote onward. Her tone stays natural throughout, and the intermittent laughs and light energy make the response feel genuine rather than scripted or overly polished.

She does an outstanding job personalizing her answer with a broader global perspective, weaving in specific experiences and firm references without ever sounding like she’s forcing name-drops or trying too hard to impress the listener. There’s very little constructive feedback here β€” aside from running slightly over time and having darker room lighting, this is a highly memorable postseason response that already feels polished enough for top-tier recruiting conversations!
